Events - YEP Calgary
Join us every second Wednesday of the month for our speaker series
and networking events! These are a great opportunity to learn about
what people and organizations are doing on the environmental front,
as well as a chance to share a beer and good conversation with other
YEP members.
Monthly Meetings are held every second Wednesday of the month after
work from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. and are hosted in the basement of at Ceili's Irish Pub
(803- 8th Ave SW, Calgary) - unless otherwise posted.
Most speaker events are free for members and $5 for non-members. All welcome!

his report on securing source water protection in southern Alberta

November 18th - Bruce Carson, the Executive Director of the Canada School of Energy & Environment will discussed Canada’s position and possible climate strategy heading in to Copenhagen. (held at deVille's)
October 14th - Next Generation Biofuel
SFN Biosystems presented their work to develop a bioenergy project from
waste heat & CO2.
Sept 9th - Ganesh Doluweera, PhD Candidate in Electrical Engineering and Energy and Environmental Systems at the University of Calgary, speaks about carbon offsets in the oilsands industry with a focus on cogeneration.
Carey Booth from the City of Calgary speaks about the Low Carbon Future Summit being held on September 18th. Kim Kiel with Alberta Ecotrust presented on their River Rally event to be held in Devon at the end of the month.

April 8 - Carl Morrison, through the Sierra Club of Canada, will presents the Action Grizzly Bear Campaign.

March 11 - Career Night with Bob Mitchell, ConocoPhilips, Noel Keough, University of Calgary, Meera Nathwani-Crowe, Shell, Stephanie Jackman, Respect for Earth and All People
Jan 13 - Peter Tertzakian, Chief Energy Economist of ARC Financial Corporation and author of "A thousand barrels a second," examines the future of oil and offers insights into what it will take to rebalance our energy needs.
Sept 10 - Clean Calgary discusses Healthy Homes and Sustainable Living
June 13 - Brade Clute from Mountain Equipment Co-Op (MEC) spoke about sustainability in retail and supply chain management.
May 14 - Wind Power in Alberta with Jason Edworthy from TransAlta Wind and Theresa Howland from Bullfrog Power.
April 9 - Career Night with Kelly Matheson, Canadian Hydro Developers,. Allan Amey, ICF Consulting, Dave Poulton, Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (CPAWS), and Robert Steedman, National Energy Board.
